Home for Dinner at The Ronald McDonald House
2012 February -
Once again, groupSource proudly participated in The Home for Dinner Program at The Ronald McDonald House located near The Alberta Children’s Hospital.
The Ronald McDonald House is a wonderful facility that helps families of seriously ill children who are hospitalized. They provide that “home away from home” atmosphere as well as other services like educational support for families with school aged children. Another one of their programs is Home for Dinner, which they rely on volunteers for its success. Last year, there were 230 meals prepared for families at the Southern Alberta location alone. This was groupSource’s second time participating and is something we plan to continue for years to come.
Many of our staff, jumped at the opportunity to volunteer their time to this worthy cause. From planning the menu for the dinner, getting the groceries, preparing the meal and doing all of the clean-up, it always proves to be an extremely rewarding experience.
We went expecting to provide a great meal for these dear people who were dealing with serious health concerns of their children. What we did not expect was the impact this would have on our own lives, as we shared a meal with them and they in turn shared their incredible stories with us.

We experienced first hand how the Ronald McDonald House is a place of compassion and hope for families of young children who have had to travel to Calgary from other parts of the Country to receive medical care.
